Boiling and chlorine leave heavy metals in; chelating tablets clean water of everything.

Heavy metal poisoning comes from polluted water — natural water and snow on Sakhal, and hot springs. The game counts the metal in your body as agents, up to 600; it grows while polluted water is in your stomach, the faster the more of your stomach it fills. The first two stages fade by themselves once your stomach is clean; from 400 agents it never ends without chelating tablets.

  1. Early

    heals by itself

    1–199 agents (of 600)

    Symptoms

    • Getting thirsty unusually fast

    You lose an extra ~0.24 water per second, and your hands shake every 20–40 s. No sick icon.

    Once no polluted water is left in your stomach it fades with any immune system: ~20 min from the top of this stage, ~3 min with an immune system above ~72 % or multivitamins.

  2. Middle

    heals by itself

    200–399 agents

    Symptoms

    • Pain groans
    • Muffled hearing
    • Getting thirsty unusually fast
    • Sick icon in the status bar

    You keep losing extra water and groan in pain every 20–40 s.

    Like the early stage: once your stomach is clean it drops back to the early stage in ~20 min, or in ~3 min with an immune system above ~72 % or multivitamins.

    Chelating Tablets· 1 tablet takes away 300–390 agents; whatever is left fades by itself.Multivitamin Pills· With a clean stomach it fades much faster.

  3. Severe

    only with medicine

    from 400 agents

    Symptoms

    • Muffled hearing
    • Ghost images
    • Vomiting
    • Losing health without being hurt

    Your hearing stays muffled and ghost images cross your vision; you vomit every 3–6 min (30 % of your stomach each time). Once it peaks at 600 you lose health.

    Never by itself — the poison stays where it is, clean stomach or not. Only chelating tablets bring it down.

    Deadly: At its peak (600): ~40–80 min from full health, faster with less blood.

How to get rid of it

Take chelating tablets, one after another as each wears off, until the symptoms are gone. Multivitamins help in the early stages.

How to avoid it

On Sakhal drink from wells and pumps, or put chelating tablets into natural water — boiling and chlorine do not help.

Good to know

  • Multivitamins do nothing in the severe stage.
  • As long as polluted water is in your stomach the poisoning grows, however strong your immune system is.
  • One chelating tablet in a bottle cleans the water of everything, heavy metals included.
